About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Architect/Software Engineer to join our team at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. As a key member of our Applied Physics Branch, you will be responsible for leading the development of complex software solutions and providing technical expertise to support our research and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical lead for computer-based solution development, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and articulate novel ideas, concepts, and proposals for new projects, and provide advice on strategic direction and planning.
  • Lead large groups of engineering and technical staff, providing guidance and motivation to ensure high-quality technical output.
  • Mentor science and technology staff, and represent the organization at national and international meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics from a university of recognized standing.
  • Experience: Ten plus years' software development experience, with expertise in architecting software solutions and leading project delivery in small teams.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Database management, modern computing technologies, operating systems, communication protocols, and industrial I&C communication protocols.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility: Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom.
