About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Architect/Application Engineer to join our team at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. As a key member of our Applied Physics Branch, you will be responsible for leading the development of complex software solutions and providing technical expertise in Cyber Security and Operational Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of software solutions for industrial systems, including the deployment of existing tools and technologies, and the development of customized software solutions.
  • Act as the Senior technical lead for computer-based solution development, preparing project proposals and work plans, and associated project management activities.
  • Develop and effectively articulate novel ideas, concepts, and proposals for new projects, and provide advice on strategic direction, planning, and coordination of major research programs.
  • Lead large groups of engineering/science and technical staff in highly technical applications, and be responsible for the motivation and guidance of the team and their technical output.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics from a university of recognized standing.
  • Ten (10) plus years' software development experience with at least three programming/scripting languages and tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting software solutions and leading project delivery in small teams.
  • Experience in software development lifecycle and associated tools, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, test, deployment, change control, configuration management, and release management.
