Environmental and Quality Assurance Role

As an Environmental and Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of quality and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems and policies.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, such as waste management, emissions, and resource use.
  • Assist in the development of sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide training and support to staff on environmental practices and standards.
  • Perform inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Build and develop quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Analyze audit results and prepare detailed reports for management, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective action and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality assurance practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Certification in Quality Auditing or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Additional certification in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001) and occupational safety (e.g., OSHA) is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance auditing, with experience in environmental and safety compliance preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001 and OSHA standards.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing quality and environmental issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Must be able to commit to a fixed day shift.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
  • Experience in the aviation industry is considered an asset.
