**SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT/FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR**

We currently have a career opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert/ Flight Instructor This person will divide their time between supporting a select group of dedicated professionals involved in courseware review and functioning as a qualified Flight Instructor at CFTS.

**JOB OVERVIEW**

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY**

As Subject Matter Expert (SME), perform the following duties:

- Collaborate with Courseware Editors regarding interpretation of Learning Objectives
- Collaborate with Courseware Editors regarding interpretation of Teaching Points
- Extract relevant data from training/technical documentation and other resources
- Create course content within the Learning Content Management System (LCMS)
- In consultation with Courseware Editors, describe any required media content to enable media development
- In consultation with Courseware Editors, edit existing courseware to reflect necessary changes
- Utilize graphic/content editing software to make minor edits to existing media

**Administrative Support**:

- Liaise and communicate with several stakeholders within the company to maintain the following documents within the training information management system:

- Training Documentation
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Customized user help manuals
- Issue/change/solution tracking logs
- User training modules and packages
- Assist in creating and editing flight training syllabi in the Training Information Management Systems (TIMS)
- Perform quality assurance testing
- Assist in maintaining the electronic training document knowledge base
- Assist in completing onsite editing of electronic courseware

**FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR**:
As a Flight Instructor, perform the following duties:

- Provide flight and simulator instruction to students, including classroom study, ground school instruction, and individual student flight instruction.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Post-secondary diploma and minimum 5 years of applicable experience in a related field.
- Hold or have held a TC Class 3 (or higher) Instructor rating
- Multi-Engine or Rotary Wing qualifications considered an asset
- Multiple program experience considered an asset
- Basic HTML programming knowledge and experience an asset
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office programs and desktop publishing software
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to interpret software documentation into usable text
- Detail oriented
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism
- Skilled at auditing paperwork
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly, understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work within a team and can function well independently
