As a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter at Zurich Canada, you will be part of a team that analyzes and underwrites new and renewal business. With moderate technical complexity, you will utilize The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels to ensure a high level of service to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities by fostering relationships with brokers and customers.
  • Make broker/customer visits with a planned and well-prepared purpose to provide solutions and enhance customer experience.
  • Take a solution-oriented approach to develop and maintain strong networks of relationships with broker partners and customers.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and curiosity to grow with the Construction unit at Zurich and the industry in general.
  • Be actively involved in business projects to enhance Zurich's product and service offerings.
Requirements
  • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • AND Knowledge of lines of business and legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 or more years' experience in commercial P&C underwriting area.
  • French language skills are required (for candidates applying to the Montreal office location).
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English language is required for communication with internal and external stakeholders located outside of Quebec (for candidates applying to the Montreal office location).
