Litigation Review Associate

Torys' Legal Services Centre (LSC) in Halifax is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Review Associate to join our eDiscovery services group.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct electronic evidence reviews in complex litigation, competition, privacy, regulatory investigations, and tax matters using Relativity eDiscovery platform.
- Oversee and quality-check review and coding decisions of document review teams for relevance, responsiveness, privilege, and other legal issues.
- Liaise with litigators on substantive legal issues related to the evidence.
- Analyze and distill data to aid the legal team in supporting or refuting facts and allegations in investigations or complex litigation.
- Collaborate with legal teams, law clerks, and eDiscovery analysts on review workflows and strategies.
- Provide substantive review support, including quality control, on outsourced reviews to ensure successful project execution and service delivery to the department at the highest level.
- Work with litigation lawyers and litigation services teams to develop and implement eDiscovery best practices regarding technology utilization and outside vendor engagement to maximize efficiencies and reduce client costs.
- Minimum 2 years of post-call litigation experience, including some exposure to document reviews in the context of civil litigation, regulatory investigations, or competition matters.
- Experience with industry-leading eDiscovery document review software tools and platforms, preferably Relativity.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to shared success working across offices and with a broad range of legal and administrative professionals.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive, with the ability to advance work independently.
- Flexible when managing multiple projects and competing demands efficiently, and able to adapt to changing priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to work flexible hours when required to meet client demands.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and other Microsoft applications.
- The ability to read and write French would be considered an asset.
