Planning & Design Technologist 2

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Planning & Design Technologist 2 to join our team. As a key member of our planning and design department, you will play a critical role in coordinating complex distribution projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all service product requirements are collected and met.
- Develop designs for distribution projects of the greatest complexity, working closely with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare pricing and cost estimates, conduct field reconnaissance, and provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Act as a liaison with customers, contractors, and developers, ensuring seamless communication and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Minimum post-secondary educational requirement - completion of a post-secondary Technology Diploma in an appropriate discipline.
- Four (4) years directly related relevant work experience, with a minimum of two (2) years typically gained as a Planning and Design Technologist 1.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure during peak workload periods.
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone call handling skills and the ability to respond to difficult or demanding situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts and customers, including positive interpersonal skills and the ability to provide direction in a team environment.
