Job Summary

Confederation College is seeking a qualified Clinical Instructor to join our team. As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical education to our students, ensuring they receive the best possible training in the field of nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs that meet the needs of our students and the healthcare industry.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in the clinical setting, ensuring they have a positive and productive learning experience.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and maintain clinical partnerships that benefit our students and the community.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in clinical education, ensuring our programs remain relevant and effective.
Requirements
  • Possess a diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Have recent and relevant clinical experience in one or more areas, such as acute medicine, general surgery, complex chronic care, rehabilitation, long-term care, pediatrics, obstetrics, and/or mental health.
  • Have a minimum of five years of active full-time nursing experience.
  • Have clinical teaching experience at either the college or university level, working with small groups of students or in a preceptorship/mentoring program affiliated with a novice learner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in nursing with a previous diploma in practical nursing.
  • Have a current specialty certification with the Canadian Nurses Association.
  • Have experience in the use of clinical simulation as a complement to nursing education.
  • Have advanced nursing experience in the areas of clinical education, nursing leadership, and management.
  • Have a proven commitment to nursing research, education, scholarship, and other professional nursing activities.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work with and teach a diverse student population, and work with colleagues or clients from various backgrounds.
  • Have an established ability to contribute to a team.
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to life-long learning as evidenced by professional development in areas such as clinical simulation, leadership, best practice guideline implementation, eHealth, and wound care.
