Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist

What you'll do

  • Perform in-depth analysis of complex electrical and instrumentation equipment issues, including low and medium voltage switchgear, electric motors, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, and protection relays.
  • Develop and prepare Construction Work Packages (CWP's) outlining proper repair or modification and subsequent testing of existing equipment.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance activities by assisting Tradespeople, Maintenance Planners, and Coordinators in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and instrumentation problems.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and support for turnaround-related activities.
  • Design and implement engineering solutions for improvements and modifications to existing equipment.
  • Perform economic analysis and risk assessments of alternative repair paths, considering effectiveness, safety, environmental impact, operation, and mean time to repair durations.
  • Prepare tender documentation, review submissions, and recommend vendor awards for major equipment replacements and repairs.

Who you'll work with:

The Team: You will collaborate closely with other functions in our Maintenance & Reliability business unit and work across the organization with teams such as Equipment Integrity, Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, and Coordination.

What we're looking for:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in industrial systems, electrical, or electronic systems engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • A membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) as a Professional Engineer.
  • Education and experience within CSA, IEEE, API, and IEC codes and standards, RCM methodology, and maintenance management such as PEMAC MMP program, SMRP, or CMRP are considered assets.
