About the Role

J and K Heating Ltd. is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects, including elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D).
  • Quote and Bid Management: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms to clients.
  • Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems to track and adjust contract expenditures.
  • Supply and Contractor Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Blueprint and Specification Analysis: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work Environment: Work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Physical Demands: Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
