About the Role:
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert legal advice to our leadership and staff, with a focus on supporting our research enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory law matters, corporate policies, research initiatives, and strategies.
- Work closely with our research legal team to provide exceptional legal services and support activities.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Law degree (LLB or JD) and a lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
- 3-5 years of post-call experience in private practice, in-house, or a combination thereof.
- Experience in general corporate/commercial, intellectual property, and privacy law, as well as contract negotiation.
- Strong preference for experience working in the hospital/healthcare or clinical research setting.
- Experience with research-related agreements and knowledge of clinical trials policies, guidelines, and regulations is an asset.
Vaccination Requirement: Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
