Lead a Team of Engineers

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Mississauga, ON.

About the Role:

This is a senior-level position responsible for managing and directing multi-discipline engineering and drafting teams to produce high-quality outputs within project requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in anticipating and solving design issues through creative problem-solving and mature judgement.
  • Design approval of drawings, standards, specifications, and procedures that meet project needs.
  • Monitor progress and performance of the project design team and provide feedback and support where necessary.
  • Prepare man-hour budgets and design schedules for study/EPCM estimates.
  • Facilitate design reviews throughout project development stages.
  • Assist with pre-commissioning activities and manage field engineering.
  • Manage subordinates' review of vendor-certified documentation and dissemination of vendor information to discipline engineers/drafting resources.
  • Ensure design drawings comply with relevant Australian and International Standards.
  • Compile project reporting requirements to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development by providing mentoring and identifying avenues for development.
  • Provide technical support and input to proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
Requirements:
  • Qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical plant design.
  • Intuitive leadership skills with ability to initiate, lead, and manage change in a complex environment.
  • Mentoring and identifying professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Able to evaluate work practices, implement systems, and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high standards within budgetary and schedule constraints.
Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum.
