Job Title: Social Worker I-MSW

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker I-MSW to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Psych Emergency IP Unit, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to children, youth, and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address mental health concerns and promote healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Support patients and families through education, short-term counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with community agencies, schools, and other healthcare providers to coordinate services and promote continuity of care.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in child, youth, and women's mental health and substance use settings.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
