Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Unit Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients, answer telephone calls, and complete requisitions
  • Transcribe doctors' orders, schedule appointments, and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Enter lab orders in Meditech, update information in McKesson Visibility, and validate healthcare coverage
  • Address inquiries from the public, family, and hospital staff, and complete various clerical tasks as required
Requirements
  • Recent Medical Office Administration diploma from a recognized college or a minimum of 1 year recent relevant experience in a similar clerical role in a clinical setting
  • Medical terminology certificate required, with experience with Meditech Patient Information System and other patient care related databases
  • Advanced keyboarding and extremely accurate data entry skills, with minimum of 30 wpm typing speed required
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize work
