Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage financial risks, oversee audits, prepare budgets, and work closely with senior leadership to guide financial strategy.
  • Lead and supervise accounting staff, including accountants and bookkeepers.
  • Develop and implement financial processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking and financial institutions.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the cannabis industry.
  • CPA or CMA designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with cannabis industry-specific software and systems.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions or financial integrations.
