Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with in-depth knowledge of on-device and cloud-based media management technologies to lead our new engineering team on a highly visible project. As a key member of the Creativity Apps team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud syncing, media management, efficient on-device storage, and collaboration solutions to enhance our products and services.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with human interface designers, quality assurance teams, and cross-functional engineering teams to influence everything from user interfaces to project planning. You will play a key role in shaping the direction and architecture of new and innovative on-device and cloud-based media management features for the creative space.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust cloud syncing, media management, efficient on-device storage, and collaboration solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to shape the direction and architecture of new and innovative on-device and cloud-based media management features.
  • Leverage your technical expertise to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with human interface designers, quality assurance teams, and other engineers to deliver high-quality products and services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience writing and shipping reliable, scalable, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Experience with Apple platforms including iOS and macOS.
  • Proficient in Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C.
  • Proven expertise and deep understanding of cloud syncing, media management, and collaboration technologies.
  • Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals and object-oriented design.
  • Ability to write performant, scalable, maintainable, and correct multi-threaded code.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to ask for help, learn from others, and mentor others in turn.
  • Committed to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building APIs or frameworks.
  • Experience with CloudKit.
  • Experience working with media encoding and playback.
  • Background in relational databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL, SQL, Core Data, etc.).
  • Performance tuning optimizing memory, scheduling, IO, networking protocols, or databases.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is between $143,500 and $271,400 per year, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
