Meat Cutter Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter Specialist to join our team at Rowe Farms. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food, service, and sustainable farming practices.

Rowe Farms is a leading provider of local, antibiotic-free, and hormone-free meats raised with the highest animal welfare standards. Our retail stores offer local delivery and unique products tailored to each location's market.
In addition to our retail presence, we also sell fresh meat and deli products to like-minded retail companies through our wholesale division.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers an estimated salary range of $17-$24 per hour, depending on experience. All employees receive at least two consecutive days off per week and enjoy discounts on our products. Full-time employees are eligible for group benefit coverage after completing a probationary period.
Responsibilities
The Meat Cutter Specialist will be responsible for:
- Working safely and adhering to company policies and processes
- Providing exceptional customer service, answering questions, and making recommendations
- Maintaining well-stocked meat cases with fresh, high-quality products
- Receiving stock and ensuring proper inventory control
- Cutting, grinding, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising meat products
- Operating equipment such as meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives
- Collaborating with the Rowe Farms team to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer experiences
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- A high school education or equivalent; butcher apprentice or diploma in culinary arts is preferred
- At least 2 years of meat-cutting experience in a retail environment
- Strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain focus
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and reach frequently, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid Food Handler's and First Aid Certifications are an asset
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
