As a Meat Cutter at Rowe Farms, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive the highest quality meat products. Our company is committed to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare standards.
About UsRowe Farms is a retail and wholesale provider of local, antibiotic, and hormone-free meats. We work directly with farmers and producers to monitor the growing cycle of the animals, giving our butchers confidence when selling cuts from nose-to-tail.
Job DescriptionThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in meat cutting to join our team as a Meat Cutter. You will be responsible for:
- Working safely and in compliance with our policies and processes
- Providing strong customer service, answering questions, making recommendations, and generally providing a high level of customer satisfaction
- Ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products
- Receiving stock and maintaining accurate inventory control
- Cutting, grinding, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and attractively merchandising meat products
- Operating equipment such as meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives
We are looking for someone with:
- A high school education or equivalent; butcher apprentice or diploma in culinary arts is preferred
- Meat-cutting experience in a retail environment is required
- Strong customer service experience, a positive attitude, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to safely handle meat-cutting tools, including knives, saws, power tools, grinders, slicers, etc.
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, starting at $17/hour for non-experienced to $24 for experienced. All employees get at least two consecutive days off per week, discounts on our products, and group benefit coverage following completion of the probationary period.
