This exciting opportunity allows an ambitious lawyer to work on complex transactions, commercial agreements, and regulatory matters within one of Toronto's premier corporate practices.

The role offers challenging and varied work within a supportive team environment, ideal for candidates looking to develop and deepen their expertise in M&A and financial services regulation, particularly within the insurance sector.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is approximately $250,000 - $400,000 per annum, paid according to the Bay Street Grid compensation structure.

Working Arrangements: The role is hybrid, requiring attendance in the office three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a range of corporate and M&A transactions, focusing on clients within the financial services and insurance sectors.
  • Advise clients on commercial arrangements, business structuring, and regulatory compliance, including insurance regulation.
  • Support and collaborate on high-stakes transactions and ensure seamless management of deal processes.
  • Work directly with clients to deliver strategic, business-focused solutions on insurance and reinsurance matters.
  • Engage in professional development to keep up-to-date with emerging trends and regulatory changes within the financial services industry.

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of post-call experience in corporate, M&A, and commercial law, gained from private practice or as in-house counsel.
  • Background in financial services regulation, particularly within the insurance sector, is a significant asset.
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills, with an eagerness to learn and tackle new challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
