Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at The Grocery Store. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

About The Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision. You will work closely with our chef de cuisine to ensure that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement new menu ideas, taking into account seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and nutritional requirements.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, ordering supplies and equipment as needed to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an executive chef or equivalent role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Familiarity with kitchen management software and technology.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. You will be required to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads, as well as work under pressure during busy service periods.

Salary and Benefits

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including annual leave, pension scheme, and meal discounts.
