Job Description: Commercial Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Commercial Project Manager to join our Vancouver team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing commercial interior construction projects to ensure they meet corporate goals for safety, quality, budget, schedule, and profitability.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects to achieve corporate objectives for safety, quality, budget, schedule, and profitability
  • Maintaining regular communication with project teams, site managers, clients, designers, trades, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of construction activities
  • Monitoring legal, contractual, and financial aspects of construction projects and developing strategies to mitigate potential risks and challenges
  • Performing project estimating, including subcontractor solicitation, buyout, and contracting
  • Creating, monitoring, and reporting on project schedules, costs, margins, and profitability
  • Building and leading a strong project team that delivers profitable projects, providing direction, coaching, and support as needed
  • Developing long-lasting client relationships by managing client expectations, ensuring construction activities align with customer requirements, and identifying opportunities for repeat business
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field
  • ~5+ years of project management experience in commercial interior construction and base building
  • Experience working on government projects is an asset
  • Reliability or Secret security clearance is an asset
  • Knowledge of local and national construction markets, including labor and resource costs
  • Ability to recognize, prioritize, and mitigate project risks
  • Tech savvy in Microsoft Office suite and project management software
Work Environment

This role requires exposure to a construction work site environment in all seasons, with a mix of on-site and in-office work.
