About the Position

The University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Israeli Studies. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be appointed to either the Department of Political Science or the Department of Sociology, and hold a minority appointment in the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the Faculty of Arts & Science's undergraduate and graduate education in the study of Israel. They will be responsible for teaching and research in the field of Israeli Studies, and will be expected to contribute to the development of the Faculty's curriculum and programs.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a social science discipline or related field, with a research and teaching portfolio that focuses on modern Israel and Jewish Studies. They must demonstrate an exceptional record of excellence in research and teaching, as well as relevant experience in research supervision.
