Vaughan, Ontario, Canada GFL Environmental Inc. Full time

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Recruiter to drive talent acquisition and management across various regions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with local communities, identifying top-tier talent, and overseeing the entire recruitment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local indigenous communities, collaborating with HR, operational hiring leaders, and local educational institutions to identify and attract top talent.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Develop and execute high-volume recruiting processes, partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs and drive business growth.
  • Job Fair Organization: Organize and execute job fairs to connect with local talent, promoting GFL Environmental Inc.'s brand and values.
  • Candidate Assessment: Review applicant resumes, conduct preliminary phone interviews, and coordinate interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Offer Management: Deliver offer letters for all positions, effectively selling the perks and benefits of working at GFL Environmental Inc. and explaining important details such as benefits, compensation, and non-compete clauses.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Create and develop sourcing strategies, headhunt, and use outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent, leveraging community networking events and managing college and university partnership programs.
  • Compliance and System Management: Ensure compliance with employment laws, manage candidate activity in the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and maintain application/resume file retention according to company policy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in full cycle recruiting, with exposure to operational industries preferred.
  • Travel to all sites in your region weekly/quarterly or as business needs require.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of employment standards, employee relations, benefits, and onboarding.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Strong ethical judgment and commitment to confidentiality.
