About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Markham Stouffville Hospital. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing clinical pharmacy services to patients in various areas, including surgery, medicine, ICU/CCU, childbirth and children, psychiatry, rehabilitation, palliative, complex care, oncology, and emergency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide drug distribution and clinical pharmacy services to patients in various areas
  • Participate in patient education and support teaching students
  • Provide drug information to nursing and medical staff
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as an integral member of the pharmacy team
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited university pharmacy program
  • Licenced under Part A registration status with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Hospital pharmacy residency is preferred
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting with unit-dose and IV admixture programs is required
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems to optimize medication therapy and safety
  • Demonstrated computer efficiency is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Evidence of professional development, continuing education, and leadership experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation, and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule

The successful candidate will be available to work 8-hour shifts days, evenings, and weekends; between the days of Monday to Sunday. Please note that schedules may change based on organizational needs.

Compensation

OPCOM09: $47.87 - $62.96 per hour

Annual Salary: $93,346.50 - $122,772 per year
