Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to lead our commercial estimation team in Ontario. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.



About the Role:

  • Lead the preparation of competitive and comprehensive bids for commercial construction projects, ensuring all project requirements are met and aligned with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to establish budgets, monitor costs, and ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Manage and mentor junior estimators, sharing best practices and helping to build a strong estimating team.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities, risks, and areas of concern.
  • Identify and assess project risks, recommending strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns and delays.
  • Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, provide updates, and address issues as they arise.
  • Offer value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality or project objectives.
  • Generate detailed reports and presentations for senior management and clients to support decision-making processes.


Key Requirements:

In order to succeed in this role, you will need:



  2. 8+ years of experience in construction estimation, with a proven track record in accurately estimating costs for commercial projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  3. A deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods, as well as familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  4. Proficient in using industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or Bluebeam).
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present estimates, engage with clients, collaborate with project teams, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
  6. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  7. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
