Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Low Temperature Geochemistry

We are seeking an exceptional and established scholar to fill a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair position in Low Temperature Geochemistry at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will have a strong research vision and program in the broad field of low temperature geochemistry, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaborations and a solid record of teaching and training of students at the graduate level.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research in low temperature geochemistry, with a focus on biogeochemistry, climate change, environmental change, geobiology, geoengineering, geohazards, green energy, hydrology, or sedimentary processes.
- Teach across the broad spectrum of Earth and environmental sciences, including undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students, and provide guidance on research projects and academic writing.
- Maintain a strong track record of attracting research funding, and promote a competitive publication record demonstrating impactful scientific contributions.
- PhD in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Environmental Sciences.
- Outstanding independent research achievements in the CRC's identified area(s), with a solid record of interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Strong record of teaching and training of students at the graduate level, with excellent communication skills in either English or French.
- Passive knowledge of the other Official Language in Canada is a requirement for tenure.
- A competitive salary range of $118,864 to $207,511, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
