Receptionist Job Description

Brandt is seeking a skilled Receptionist to join our Surrey Construction & Forestry team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, candidates, and other parties via telephone, email, and in-person
  • Refer inquiries to the appropriate individuals, divisions, or departments across the organization
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring a tidy and presentable environment
  • Coordinate logistical aspects of departmental programs, including meetings, seminars, and events
  • Arrange meetings and ensure necessary presentation equipment is available
  • Present a positive and professional image of the organization to all visitors and interactions
  • Provide information to staff and clients about special activities
  • Administer and manage inbound and outbound mail, including priority post and packages
  • Ensure office supplies are stocked and obtained at the best possible price
  • Coordinate employee coveralls with the vendor
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, including procurement, travel arrangements, and budget management
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and maintain filing systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on a multi-line switchboard
  • High school diploma or GED, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 2-4 years of direct work experience in a receptionist capacity
