Physician Assistant

Nova Scotia Health is currently seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the transformation of healthcare delivery in our province.
Responsibilities- Obtain health history and conduct comprehensive physical assessments to formulate a differential diagnosis and determine further clinical investigation requirements
- Order diagnostic testing and interpret results, formulating a treatment and management plan based on assessment and investigation findings
- Implement effective treatment plans, demonstrating appropriate procedural skills and collaborating with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals

- Graduate of an accredited recognized Physician Assistant program in Canada or the United States
- Certification through the Physician Assistant's Certification Council (PACC) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Eligible for license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Nova Scotia and membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
- Recent emergency medicine experience and certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
