Work in Ottawa is excited to partner with KNDS Canada on their search for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager.

The EHS Manager at KNDS Canada will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and fostering a strong culture of safety across the facility. This involves developing and implementing EHS strategies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting continuous improvement in safety practices to reduce workplace incidents.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams, CAF, and DND to align safety protocols with project objectives, while overseeing EHS training programs, audits, and reporting to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies in compliance with federal, provincial, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Regularly assess potential hazards in the workplace, perform safety audits, and implement corrective actions to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training for employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental protection.
  • Lead investigations of workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, ensuring thorough documentation, root cause analysis, and timely reporting.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
