Canning's Personal Care Home is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker - Building and Grounds to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and other refuse
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work in an urban area and a retirement home setting
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal record check
