Job Title: Strategic Transportation Planning Manager

Join the City of Kelowna team as a Strategic Transportation Planning Manager, responsible for leading the development of transportation plans and policies that promote sustainable and equitable mobility for our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement transportation plans and policies that align with the City's strategic vision and goals.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of transportation projects and initiatives, including the development of transportation master plans and service plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the public, community groups, and other government agencies, to ensure that transportation plans and policies meet the needs of all members of our community.
  • Manage and analyze transportation data to inform decision-making and evaluate the effectiveness of transportation plans and policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation stakeholders, including MOTI and BC Transit, to ensure that transportation plans and policies are aligned with regional and provincial priorities.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field, such as transportation planning, urban planning, or engineering.
  • Experience in transportation planning and policy development, including experience with transportation data analysis and GIS.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices, including multi-modal transportation planning and integrated urban mobility.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
