About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Homewood Health, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to our organization's mission to improve lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients across Elective Psychiatry Services, adhering to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Act as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as needed, supporting the growth and development of colleagues.
- Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences to ensure comprehensive care planning.
- Accept changing work assignments across Elective Psychiatry Services, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
- Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice, with a preference for experience working with eating disorders.
- Current CPR certification and knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPPA).
- Knowledge of CBT/DBT, medical skills, and knowledge regarding re-feeding, as well as experience with group facilitation and crisis management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with proficient computer skills and experience working with various systems and software applications.
