We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Advisor to join our team at Medavie Blue Cross. Key Responsibilities- Lead policy research, development, and updates, working in collaboration with our clients.
- Achieve and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the NB Drug Plans, including client objectives and communications needs.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of communications strategies and tactics to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Provide input on all internal written communications supporting the NB Drug Plans, including training materials and other team-based materials.
- Support in-person and/or all-hands sessions and needed communications within Medavie Blue Cross and externally in collaboration with our government customer.
- Act as the final approval point for editing materials within and external-facing on behalf of the NB Drug Plans.
- Oversee, write, and edit content for department and external communications, including emails, speaking remarks, and scripts for employee events, presentations, and materials for management meetings, website updates, announcements, key business updates, etc.
- Manage communications processes and planning with our leadership team, including change management needs and involvement with larger projects or initiatives that result in substantial new materials or significant changes to current documents.
- Distill complex information into digestible, engaging, informative pieces for employees (storytelling).
- Modify writing tone and voice according to the audience.
- Stay updated on innovations in communications practices, particularly new platforms and digital channels.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of change management theory and practice.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, working with Government is a definite asset.
- Proven experience in Policy development is required.
- Certification or Diploma in Policy and Procedure writing is an asset.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive subjects/issues professionally.
- Solid time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to work with multi-stakeholder teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter and problem-solver who works well independently and as part of a geographically dispersed, virtual team.
- Understanding of best practices to communicate across a diverse, hybrid employee base.
- Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Webex, and SharePoint.
- Aptitude for technology.
Bilingualism (English & French) is an asset. Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).
