About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team at Nature's Touch Frozen Foods. As a key member of our global supply chain team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards related to the importation, exportation, and distribution of our frozen fruit, vegetable, and chocolate products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret global regulations, standards, and guidelines related to food safety, labeling, and trade compliance for frozen food products.
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with country-specific regulations, including customs clearance, tariffs, and trade agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product labeling, packaging, and formulation comply with regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regulatory research and due diligence on new product developments, ingredients, and suppliers.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of regulatory documentation, including certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates, and import/export documentation.
  • Facilitate communication with regulatory authorities, customs agencies, and third-party auditors.
  • Manage the relationship with assurance certification bodies.
  • Assist Plant Quality Managers in maintaining certifications in different sites.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in regulatory affairs in the food industry, with a focus on global supply chain and trade compliance and packaging artwork reviews.
  • Experience with international trade agreements, tariffs, and customs regulations.
  • Background in data analysis, data management, and data entry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including USDA, FDA, EU, and Codex Alimentarius.
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Advanced MS Excel is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preference is given to applicants who speak English, Spanish, and French (tri-lingual).
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet is an asset.
  • Knowledge of nutracoster/genesis an asset.
  • Knowledge of advertising rules.
