Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our Hearst Construction & Forestry team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment in a shop environment.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and diagnose equipment issues, ordering parts and performing repairs efficiently and effectively
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
- Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent
- Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards
- Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
- Locate and order parts from parts personnel
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
- Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
- Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
