This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to individuals with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders in a community setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide crisis intervention, assessment, diagnostic, and treatment services to adults with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders.
- Collaborate with mental health therapists, addictions counselors, community treatment order staff, consumer support workers, and other health professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement individual care plans and run groups to support clients in their recovery journey.
- Work in a mental health environment, practicing within the full scope of practice as defined by the appropriate college and maintaining ongoing professional development.
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Additional required qualifications as specified.
- Community and rural experience.
- Experience in addictions and mental health.
- Knowledge of the DSM Categories, Mental Health Act, and Assertive Outreach services.
