About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct, hands-on care to patients based on their individual needs and program/unit requirements.

Working under the supervision of regulated health professionals, you will support patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, while reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in continuing care and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program certification
  • Provincial certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Where there are no applicants with provincial certification, we may consider candidates who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.

Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $23.71 - $25.70, as well as access to our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
