Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer - Power Electronics

At Leonardo DRS, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Engineer - Power Electronics to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing switch-mode power conversion equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware for power conversion equipment in the 100W to 100kW power range
  • Work closely with firmware designers to define project firmware/software requirements
  • Provide technical assistance to customers in support of new product development and legacy product support
  • Develop prototypes to resolve key development risks
  • Generate engineering documentation in support of design activities and customer requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrical design in a light manufacturing environment, 5 of those in Firmware development
  • Familiarity with the application of military and commercial standards to electrical designs
  • Demonstrated application of electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures, and related knowledge to construct and debug power electronics circuitry
