Job Title: Construction Site Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our team at AV Homes Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Construction Site Supervisor will be responsible for supervising workers and projects, coordinating and scheduling activities, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed, and recommending personnel actions. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral communication skills, be organized, reliable, and a team player.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure timely completion and quality of work
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to meet project deadlines
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on the construction site
  • Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, training, and disciplinary measures
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Lead and instruct individuals to achieve project goals
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a construction-related field
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Organized and reliable
  • Team player with excellent leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assistance with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Support for social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Recruitment of newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Support for foreign credential recognition
  • Offering mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Providing diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees

  • Providing cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Facilitating access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
