About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at 45006 Yukon Inc. as a Building Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances, move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate carpet cleaning machines, power tools, and small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments).
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Willing to work in a motel, rural area, or commercial building setting.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, initiative, judgement, and reliability.
Working Conditions
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
