Join Our Team as a Staff Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Solicitor to join our Professional Regulation department for a 6-month term. As a Staff Solicitor, you will work closely with our team to provide legal advice and support on various projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on proposed policy and amendments to Law Society Rules
  • Prepare legal memos and reports to Benchers and other groups
  • Liaise with other departments and regulatory bodies to gather information and data
  • Perform statistical analysis and draft guidelines and internal policies
  • Provide advice and information to staff regarding administrative penalties
Requirements:
  • A member in good standing of the Law Society of BC or eligible for membership
  • Some experience preferred in legal research, public policy development, or the regulation of professionals
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and document/knowledge management systems
