Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Healthcare Professional to join our team at Edgewood Health Network Inc. in providing medical care, recovery therapies, and support to clients in Detox and addictions residential treatment.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care, including nursing assessments, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring.

You will work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, clinical counselors, and aftercare coordinators, to ensure seamless continuity of care. Your strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment will be essential in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical nursing assessments during patient intake and discharge processes
  • Gathering of medical history, mental health, and substance use information
  • Administration of breathalyzer tests, collection of urine samples, and provision of nursing care
  • Nursing interventions, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration for patients during medically supervised detox
  • Documentation of patient progress in KIPU electronic medical record system
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A valid and current LPN license from the College of Nurses of British Columbia
  • Trauma-informed training or experience (an asset)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing
  • Able to understand and follow directions
  • Good hearing and eyesight
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification
