About the Role:

The Public Health Nurse plays a vital role in promoting maternal and child health. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting prenatal and postnatal assessments, counseling, and referrals to ensure a smooth transition for mothers and babies
  • Providing breastfeeding support, guidance to new parents, and teaching care procedures to promote infant health
  • Coordinating with community services, healthcare providers, and social workers to provide comprehensive care
  • Delivering health education and promotion services to individuals and groups to enhance health knowledge and encourage self-care
The focus is on supporting childbearing and childrearing families during the prenatal and postnatal periods.
