Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operating Room Assistant. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Distribute and maintain surgical supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
  • Disassemble and reassemble anaesthetic and related equipment as required.
  • Transport equipment and supplies to and from the Operating Room.
  • Maintain cleanliness of sterilizers and sterile core and instrument room.
  • Restock supplies and set up anaesthetic carts according to established procedures.
  • Participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance Program by cleaning, checking and testing sterilizers and other related equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing course, plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
