Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department at South Shore Regional Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the transformation of healthcare delivery in our province.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain comprehensive health histories and conduct thorough physical assessments to inform diagnosis and treatment plans
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement treatment plans based on assessment and investigation results
- Provide high-quality patient care, demonstrating expertise in emergency medicine and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program in Canada or the United States
- Certification through the Physician Assistant's Certification Council (PACC) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
- Medical Liability Insurance required
- Recent experience in emergency medicine, with a strong understanding of emergency department operations and protocols
