Bakery Supervisor Job Description

At Simply Biscotti, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our pastry department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring the highest quality products are produced, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and food service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Hire and dismiss staff as needed, ensuring that all personnel meet the necessary qualifications and fit the company culture.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including tracking stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods, including developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or pastry production environment.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Work Environment:

The Bakery Supervisor will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, with frequent exposure to flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and ever-changing work environment.

Security and Safety:

The Bakery Supervisor will be required to undergo a criminal record check and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Personal Suitability:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will be reliable, accurate, and able to work under pressure.
