Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the bank's technology strategy, aligning with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of large-scale, complex technology projects, ensuring timely, within-budget, and to-specification delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, including executive leadership, to ensure technology solutions meet business needs and drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and manage the technology team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high-performing teams and individual contributors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, business analysis, and quality assurance, to ensure effective project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in technology solutions and processes.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost optimization.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance and risk management processes to ensure technology solutions meet regulatory requirements and minimize risk.
  • Provide executive-level leadership and communication to stakeholders, including board members, executive leadership, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in technology, business data analytics, and consulting roles, with a proven track record of leading teams of 60+ internal and external resources in a matrix environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to engage in problem-solving sessions and discuss business issues in stakeholder language.
  • Proven success in cultural transformation, ensuring high levels of engagement and effective employee retention strategies.
  • Strong experience with all facets of the software development life cycle, including Change/Release Management, DevOps, Cloud Native design, and Environment (incl. Source Code) Management.
  • Expert at leading change, from organizational levels down to making things sticky for individual teams, with the ability to infer and negotiate outcomes, foster relationships, and build alignment with other executives of the bank.
  • Strong track record of large program deliveries and people management, with complex interdependencies across stakeholder teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Proven managerial leadership skills, with inspiring, coaching, and mentoring of 60+ person engineering teams, plus vendor resources.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and presentation skills, with expert collaboration and customer-relationship skills, and the ability to engage with all levels of staff and management across multiple partner teams in a hybrid working model.
  • Proven track record to lead the product life cycle to build, measure, and learn from newly introduced products until market fit is achieved.
