About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to provide high-quality patient care to residents in our residential care setting. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that our residents receive comprehensive and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide resident-centered care, focusing on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Assess and respond to residents' physical and emotional needs, including pain management, wound care, and palliative care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet residents' unique needs and goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring that residents' information is documented and communicated effectively to other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying current with best practices in long-term care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Nursing from a recognized institution and registration as an RN or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Experience working in long-term care or a related field, with a strong understanding of gerontology and its applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to providing person-centered care, prioritizing the needs and preferences of each resident.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
