About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at Hillhouse Construction Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Plans: Develop and implement detailed plans for construction projects, adhering to building codes and regulations.
  • Measure and Cut Materials: Accurately measure and cut materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Assemble and Join Materials: Assemble and join materials to create sturdy and durable structures.
  • Prepare Tenders and Quotations: Develop and submit detailed tenders and quotations for construction projects.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a solid and secure structure.
  • Coordinate Work on Sites: Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites to ensure efficient and safe working practices.
  • Survey Building Locations: Conduct site surveys to determine building locations and levels.
  • Supervise Other Workers: Supervise and mentor other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete tasks safely and effectively.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for construction projects.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residences, wooden structures, and other buildings to ensure they remain safe and secure.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 35 hours per week.
