Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager

Ontario Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager to oversee the operation of our culinary team.
About the JobThis is a permanent, full-time position with 35 hours of work per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Cooking and Menu Planning: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Team Management: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including helpers and cooks, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, and order necessary items in a timely manner.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure the kitchen and work areas are clean and safe at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to maintain a positive dining experience.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
- A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a cook or in a related field;
- Demonstrated expertise in cooking and menu planning, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and management;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team;
- A reliable and organized approach to work, with strong attention to detail and time management skills;
- A valid Work Permit or Proof of Residency.
This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads. You must be able to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in fast-paced environments.
CompensationThe estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
